Deputies Lodge Charges In Felony Cases |

Deputies of the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office had a busy few days with the arrest of one man for allegedly stabbing his nephew, and another for a burglary and other theft related charges.
On Thursday of last week, deputies arrested 60-year-old Bernie Dean Ratliff. Ratliff, who lives at 6670 NC Highway 700, Apartment B, was charged with felonious Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury.
According to a news release from the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office, she said Ratliff allegedly stabbed his nephew, Chris Ratliff, during the early morning hours, but didn’t indicate what led up to the assault.
Bernie Ratliff was placed in the Rockingham County Jail under a $250,000 secured bond, and he’s scheduled to appear in Rockingham County District Court this coming Thursday, February 2nd.
Then on Friday, deputies charged a Reidsville city resident on nine felony charges and nine misdemeanor charges. Rockingham County deputies arrested 24-year-old Justin Keith Terry of 1025 Elm Street, Apartment A, in Reidsville.
A report from the Sheriff’s Office said that Terry was arrested on eight counts of felonious Breaking and Entering into a Motor Vehicle, nine counts of Misdemeanor Larceny, and one count of felonious Burglary.
Once he was processed, Justin Terry was placed in the Rockingham County Jail under a $200,000 secured bond. He’s scheduled to appear in Rockingham County District Court on February 16th. |
